I had a realization one morning as I dropped my 3 month old baby off at daycare, that this was not how I wanted to spend my days or my kid's childhoods. I craved being able to make money from something I loved while being able to stay home with kids.
And that's exactly what I did. I resigned from my teaching career in May 2018 and dove head first into full time photography. It still blows my mind 7 years later that my passion of photography gives me the flexibility and income to show up for what matters most to me. This is possible for you too!
I often joke that I “fell into” photography, but it’s true! I started my photography business in 2014 with a baby, a borrowed camera, and a need to generate income for my family. I never thought it would be my full time career but God had other plans.
