Learn How To Grow Your Photography Business to Full Time Income This Year!
I often get asked, how do I get clients to pay me full price? And also, how can I find clients that truly value me? These two questions are absolutely wonderful and they are so important. And what I want to do on today’s episode is answer these two questions from my own experience. If you want to be a go -to photographer in your area, but you feel like a best kept secret, keep listening to learn how to get paid full price as a photographer.
I started my photography business back in 2014. I had a six -month -old baby, and I just fell in love with it. That’s really how I started. Every single time I was behind the camera, either working with a friend or working with family members or coworkers, it just lit a fire in my belly, and I just wanted to chase that feeling.
I’m completely self -taught, everything that I know up to a certain point in my business. I just learned for free, whether I was soaking up free education like YouTube videos, podcasts, whatever, which let me just say there was not a whole lot of education out there back in the day.
In the beginning, I was just chasing a passion. I never thought I would do this full time one day.
In the very beginning, I wasn’t valuing my time or talent. I’ve been the cheapest photographer in my area. I was excited that people wanted to pay me “full price” for a $50 session. That worked for a little while, until it didn’t. I realized I was overworking and not being valued for my time, skills, or talent. I was just convenient for people with small budgets.
Once I had that wake up call, I began charging for profit. I was at a point where I was investing in my business and my skillsets. I raised my prices and lost clients. It happens, but I gained new clients who valued me and respected me.
It starts with you! You have to know what is required for you to be profitable. You can take my free class on how to price for profit if you haven’t yet.
