Many of my clients have told me lately that their biggest struggle in this season of the lack of leads. They’re looking for strategies to get leads and that’s exactly what I’m going to help you with today. If this is you then I have some questions I’d like you to ask yourself to find where the missing piece is and figure out what you can work on to increase leads and inquiries in your social media marketing.
If I were coaching you 1:1 and you came to me saying that you’re struggling and need strategies to get leads in your business here are a couple of those questions I would ask you. And we would really work through to uncover where you’re leaving money on the table.
The first question that I would be asking you is have you been consistently marketing your business? So you’d say yes I really am doing a great job. I’m being consistent with marketing. Or you might be on the other side where you wouldn’t say you’re consistent. This goes back to what season of your business you’re in. You might be in a season where you really can’t be consistent in the entire marketing funnel. There’s another episode where I talk about the number one marketing mistake you’re making which is only marketing on social media.
Which brings me to the second question that I would ask you. Where are you marketing your business? And are you only marketing on social media? I hate to be this person but I have to tell you that social media content alone is not a marketing strategy. Social media is at the top of your marketing funnel and I walk you through all of that. So question number one was have you been consistently marketing and you’re going to immediately know whether that is a yes or a no. Question number two was are you only marketing on social media. If that answer is yes then we need to make sure that you actually have a strategy for social media. What do you want your followers to do? With all of your content you don’t want them to just stay on the app and only consume right? Your content is there to encourage people to take action with you. Do you want them to inquire? Do you want them to download your lead magnet? Tune into your podcast? Book a session with you? What do you want your people to do? When you take a look at my marketing guide you’ll realize that yes social media cannot be your only piece of the funnel.
Question number three is has your audience been growing or are you talking to the same people over and over? So think about your business as a pipeline. When you’re in business your goal is to turn the faucet on to where the water is running. And you are caring for people from start to finish. You don’t want them going down the drain. If you have holes in your strategy and in your business funnel then that is where you’ll experience a lack of leads, a lack of sales, and not having people come back to you. Right now if you’re not experiencing leads then your water isn’t flowing. Now we need to figure out why. How do we actually get leads in the funnel?
First and foremost you have to set your foundation. Here is where I feel like a lot of people don’t want to put in the work. There’s a part of business called lead generation. You have to figure out the best strategy to generate leads for your business. How are you going to get leads in? Are you going to get leads in by offering a free resource? Having amazing content? There’s so many different ways to do lead generation. How this ties back to growing your audience is are you participating in lead generation? Or are you talking to the same people over and over? If you’re talking to the same people over and over then you are tapping out your warm market and sales won’t increase if your audience doesn’t increase. So really think about that today and brainstorm some ways to start to grow your audience with your ideal person.
Here is a golden tip for you and practical strategy. This is what I help business owners with every single day to create content to build a business funnel and come up with what lead generation looks like. You have to know the problem that you solve and who you are the best fit to help. These two things are summed up by these words, niche and ideal clients. The quicker you niche the quicker you will see more leads and more sales. The longer you drag your feet and market to a generic audience then you’re going to stay stuck. So I want you to think about these questions today. What problem do you solve for your ideal client? Who is your ideal client? This is the person you are best fit to help.
For example, I was working with one of my clients and she’s in the wellness industry. We went through an entire strategy call literally just answering these two questions. What is the problem that you solve and who is your ideal client. We just kept narrowing it and narrowing it. And we finally realized that her ideal client wasn’t just anyone wanting to see results in their health and wellness. It was very specific problems. It was a middle aged woman with adult children that wants enough energy and wants to be healthy for years to come so she can enjoy her adult children and her grandchildren. This is one of the best strategies to get leads. Know who you are talking to. So she’s not going to make content anywhere on generic fitness. She is specifically speaking to this woman. And now she knows her niche and who her ideal client is so she can go build her business funnel and have specific strategies for her business and content that speaks to that person.
So now it’s your turn. I want you to answer all five of these questions, especially if you’re having a lack of leads and or sales.
