Learn How To Grow Your Photography Business to Full Time Income This Year!
How to style your client is a huge part of planning a photography session and quite frankly the most stressful part for your client. As photographers, it’s extremely crucial that we do everything we can to lighten the stress for our clients during the planning process. I want to share 3 ways you can style your clients for their next photography session.
Every season I spend a few days scrolling on Amazon to find the season’s trends and colors that coordinate with my editing style. I then put these outfits into lists based on season, gender, and other misc. categories. It’s easy to re-use the links season after season for reuse and sharing with multiple clients. These lists can be used in client emails and text messages to send clients about their sessions. Bonus tip: You can also set up an amazon influencer account & earn some income!
Lists for client sessions aren’t limited to family photography sessions. Utilize these lists for baby and newborn photography, maternity, cake smash sessions, engagement sessions, and so on. The options for lists are truly endless.
We all love the option of an Amazon Prime experience. This is a click, ship, and receive experience. The client has the ability to simply pick their size or color and possibly receive it within the same day. Plus the convenience of having every member of the family in one place is such a breeze for a mom.
Bonus tip: The returns are easy, so even better!
Don’t get frustrated when your client closet doesn’t get used. The key to making it an obvious option will help. You must repeat several times that the closet is available for client use. This could be in your client experience or even an email clients receive after booking with you. You could include images of your clothing through a Pinterest board or Canva collage. I even include this option in my client questionnaire clients fill out after booking their session.
Style your clients using clothes they already own. The key to this process is to start with one person. I often suggest starting with mom and build the family wardrobe from this outfit. I like to guide this process with questions. Do you prefer to wear jeans, khakis, button downs, polo, etc. This is beneficial in helping the client narrow their outfit options from here. They can easily send me a few options for each person and together we narrow down what they are wearing for their session.
