Learn How To Grow Your Photography Business to Full Time Income This Year!
“A confused buyer never buys.” This is one of my favorite quotes, because it’s so accurate. Have you ever been overwhelmed by too many choices? It’s not a great feeling and often times we walk away from making the decision. In other words, life is much simpler when you have to choose between two things. This can often be true in your photography business as well. If you’re currently unsure about the amount of packages you have, keep reading and I will help you simplify your session packages.
Too often we create packages for every scenario simply because we want the bookings. But this is something I want you to stop doing as quickly as possible. So then, you need to ask yourself – do I really need so many packages? Let’s simplify your package offers and increase your bookings. I recommend having no more than 3 packages per session type at the max.
If you are stuck on what to offer your clients, here’s an example for you:
Lowest Option #1 – 30 minutes, 1 location, 10-15 images in a gallery.
Middle Option #2 – 60 minutes, 1 location, 30 images in a gallery.
Highest Option #3 – 60-90 minutes, 1 location, optional wardrobe change, 50 images in a gallery.
These offers give your clients a choice in what they would like to receive; and how much time they have to invest in a session.
In addition, if you are wanting to simplify further, you could offer a flat rate session fee. This could give your client one hour of photography and 40 images. This gives them the option to choose which type of sessions they are wanting to book. You could end up with a whole family or even a maternity shoot with this offer. Remember we as consumers want simple choices. For more ways to simplify your photography business check out more tips here.

Finally, I’m going to leave you with an action step and that is to audit your packages. Go through you package offers and consider the following things:
1. Do you have too many options?
2. Are they clear to your leads? Do they know exactly what they are going to get?
I invite you to send your packages to a friend or another photographer and see if they are crystal clear on what you are communicating in your packages. A confused buyer will not buy. Offer precise, easy to choose packages and your ideal client will have a clear vision of what to chose!
