Learn How To Grow Your Photography Business to Full Time Income This Year!
I have been seeing this all over the place. Photographers are telling me Brooke, I’m doing all the things and I’m still not booking photography clients. Today I’m diving into three reasons why you’re getting ghosted by photography leads.
Not only will I be giving you practical steps to take to start booking clients. But I also have an amazing resource that will absolutely help you in your business. It will help you with your marketing but to stop getting ghosted from your photography leads as well.
This is something I see a lot, especially when I’m doing audits on Instagram or Facebook. We do this all the time with my students in my Blueprint Program. So from session to session the editing looks completely different. I do understand that every single session won’t look the same and they shouldn’t. But there should be an overall consistent editing vibe going on. So people can tell that you were the photographer on that session. Where people start to recognize your work and your style. And if that isn’t currently happening then this is one of the reasons you’re losing clients. It’s because they’re not quite sure what they’ll get when they book you.
As a photographer it can be extremely frustrating to nail an editing style. It’s definitely a learning curve. You will naturally evolve your editing style too as time goes on. But I really think that everyone should at least be consistent in their editing and then learn skills and improve as time goes on. This will help you consistently when booking photography clients.
So look at your work and ask yourself, is my editing style consistent? Or does my work look completely different from session to session? And if you haven’t already go play around with some presets. They aren’t a one click fix. You can’t just click on a preset and then it magically does all the editing for you. But a preset will provide a beautiful base for you and can help with consistent editing.
I know this is probably something you don’t want to hear but you need to be honest with yourself and fix this so you can show future clients that you are consistent.
I am saying all of this with love but you can’t DIY your way through everything. You can’t just have a mediocre brand and expect to be the go to photographer in your area. You need to be very strategic and intentional with your brand, your messaging, and the visuals you are putting out there. And I see this not only with social media but with websites and with client experience too. I want you to put yourself in your potential client’s shoes. Go into their perspective and audit what you are putting out there. And then ask yourself, does this look professional or does it look like I DIY my business? Is this why I’m having such a hard time booking photography clients?
There’s a lot of different ways that you can come across as a professional and have a brand that really stands out. If you skip this step then it’s going to be hard for potential clients to want to work with you. They’re looking for people who take their business seriously.
And I’m trying to help you fix things faster so you can book more clients. That’s the whole point of this podcast.
So this is the second thing I believe is holding you back. You haven’t fully embraced yourself, your business, and your values and it shows.
The content that you’re creating is just mediocre. You’re throwing a one liner caption on a picture and throwing some hashtags in. And you’re expecting all of your followers to engage. But you’re not giving them a reason to engage. You’re not really sure what to say so you’re slapping up these posts quickly
But that’s not how it works. Content creation is a strategy and a learned skill. When it comes to conveying a message you’re speaking to your ideal client. And if you’re not giving them value then how are you supposed to make connections? Social media is meant to be social and allow you to have conversations with people.
So here’s what I want you to do. Stop approaching social media thinking oh I’ll just slap this post up there and cross my fingers that I wake up to DMs of people wanting to book me. This is not a strategy and it’s where so many people struggle. So I’ve created an Instagram workshop for you to dive in and learn a true strategy. And not only that but we have a free content calendar that will tell you exactly what to post.
But downloading the free calendar isn’t enough. You have to have a content strategy and understand what you’re posting. Then figure out how those pieces tie into your Instagram funnel. Because if you don’t have a strategy then you’re not going to book clients.
So go get all of the details for my Instagram workshop here. This is going to help you with two of these reasons that you’re not getting booked. It will help you elevate your brand and really give you some insight on how to have a presence, how to set yourself apart, and how to really shine. And then of course how to get followers. How to grow your following with actual potential clients and not just a bunch of other photographers. And how to have a business funnel that’s going to help you book those clients.
That is your perfect solution to help you know what to do when it comes to marketing your business on Instagram. Then really think about these three reasons:
If you’re still here it’s because you want growth, right? You want your business to flourish. You want your business to be profitable. And I’m cheering you on. You’ve got this, keep going.
