Learn How To Grow Your Photography Business to Full Time Income This Year!
As a photographer one of the most frustrating experiences is when a potential client shows interest in your work but then goes silent after you sent them information. It’s disheartening to think that you may have lost a valuable lead. But fear not! Today I will share with you my ultimate lead follow up strategy that has helped my Blueprint students convert more leads into bookings. Get ready to learn some game changing techniques that will revolutionalize your lead conversion process.
Before we dive into the nitty gritty of the follow up strategy, let’s start by changing the way you view leads. Instead of seeing them as potential clients who either want to book you right away or not at all, think of them as individuals who have expressed interest in working with you. They may want to book you now or in the future. This shift in mindset takes the pressure off and allows you to see each lead as a learning opportunity and a chance to make a lasting impression.
To effectively track your leads and follow up process, I highly recommend using a business management system like Iris Works. Iris Works is a game changer that streamlines client management, lead tracking, and task management. With features like a booking calendar, automatic workflows, and lead tracking, Iris Works becomes your one stop solution for managing your photography business. You can even try it out for free with their two week trial. And when you’re ready to commit, use my code “BROOKE” to save 20% off your first year’s subscription.
One of the most valuable things I do for my Blueprint students is auditing their lead conversations and booking processes. There are always missed opportunities, whether it’s tweaking their language or implementing the follow up strategy I’m about to share. By fine tuning their lead conversations, photographers have incredible results in terms of lead recovery, conversion rates, and overall booking percentages.
Now let’s dive into the actual lead conversation process. If the lead comes from social media, they might message you with a simple inquiry like, “How much do you charge for a family session?” It’s essential to engage in a conversation with them before moving forward. Take the time to gather more information about their needs and preferences. Once you have a better understanding, you can proceed to the next step.
After the initial conversation, it’s time to send over your investment guide. This guide is strategically designed to convert leads into bookings. It provides all the necessary information without overwhelming them. Once you’ve sent the investment guide, follow up with a message like, “I’m so excited to potentially work with you. Can I get your email address so I can send over my investment guide?” This transition from social media to email ensures that you have a direct line of communication with the lead.
Now comes the crucial part: follow up. People are busy, and it’s easy for leads to get distracted or forget to respond. Don’t assume that they’re not interested or that your prices are too high. Give them some time to review the information and get back to you. If you haven’t heard from them within 24 hours, send a follow up message or email. Keep it simple and friendly like, “Hey, just wanted to check in and see if you had a chance to look over the investment guide. Did you have any questions?”
If you still haven’t received a response after 24 hours, it’s time for another follow up. Wait for about two to three days after the initial inquiry and send a message like, “Just wanted to pop in and see if you wanted to book that family session. Do you want me to send over my availability?” This gentle nudge keeps the conversation going and encourages the lead to take the next step.
If you still haven’t heard back after the second follow up, it’s time for the final check in. Wait for one week after the initial inquiry and send a message like, “Just wanted to give one final check in and see if there were any questions I could answer or if you wanted to go ahead and book a session. If not, no worries. I would be happy to add you to my first to know Facebook group or email list for future opportunities.” This gives the lead one last chance to respond and shows that you value their interest, even if they’re not ready to book at the moment.
One of the most valuable features of Iris Works is its ability to track leads. If a lead starts the booking process but doesn’t complete it, you’ll receive an email notification with details about where they fell off. This feature allows you to follow up with them and potentially save a lost lead. By taking the initiative and reaching out, you can turn a missed opportunity into a future booking.
Remember, the goal is not just to convert leads into immediate bookings but also to nurture them for future opportunities. Even if a lead doesn’t book right away, you can add them to your email list or invite them to your Facebook group. By staying in touch and providing valuable content throughout the year, you increase the chances of them booking with you in the future.
Now it’s time for you to take action. Go back to all the leads you’ve had so far this year and follow up with them using this strategy. Don’t let potential clients slip through the cracks. By implementing a consistent follow up process, you’ll see an increase in lead conversions and ultimately, more bookings. And if you’re ready to take your photography business to the next level, consider joining my Blueprint Program where I’ll coach you and help you achieve your goals.
In conclusion, the ultimate lead follow up strategy is a game changer for photographers. By shifting your mindset, leveraging a business management system like Iris Works, and implementing a consistent follow up process, you can convert more leads into bookings. Remember, leads are not just potential clients; they’re future opportunities. By nurturing these leads and staying in touch throughout the year, you increase the likelihood of them booking with you. So take action today and watch your lead conversion rates soar.
