Learn How To Grow Your Photography Business to Full Time Income This Year!
Are you struggling to book clients? Today, we’re going to find out why…
Let’s dive into the marketing side of why you may not be booking clients.
Some of you are still being so generic; you’re willing to take anybody and everybody that says, “hey, you take awesome pictures, I want to hire you”. If this is you, you’re being Oprah, a session for you is just that, a session. You don’t care about what you’re actually trying to build for yourself.
You have to know your niche!
If you’ve heard me say this before, but you’re still dabbling, it’s time to make a decision!
This is the number one step that is going to prevent you from booking clients and growing a profitable, sustainable and purposeful business. You have to understand who you’re talking to + their buying behaviors, or you’re always going to struggle to book clients.
When you started your photography business, did you do so with a business mindset?
Or, like so many of us, you didn’t realize all the things that actually take place in order to being a successful business owner.
So what does this mean for you?
Well, what do you want to be the go to photographer for your industry?
99.9% of the time, it’s because people are confused on what the heck you’re offering. So, what is your niche?
If you’re constantly dabbling in things, and then you decide to host wildflower sessions, and you say, “it’s for anybody, grandparents, parents, families, couples, seniors, it’d be great for everybody”. Your potential clients need a visual, saying your wildflower sessions are for everyone is generic & makes it hard to visualize the session. Instead, you could say, “hey, I am hosting wildflower sessions for high school seniors, here’s the specific location”. You’re going to have more inquiries because you’ve made this session specific to one niche, one location, one type of session.
Stop being generic. We don’t need to be vanilla, choose a different ice cream flavor.
Here’s why you’re struggling to book clients…you sound like every other photographer out there.
Spice it up. Speak specifically to your ideal client. Meet them where they are & talk directly to them.
What are you saying when you’re marketing? Don’t be vanilla.
I’m talking organically here. I’m not talking about running Facebook ads or Google ads, or whatever else you’re paying for.
Do you know which platform your clients actually prefer and hang out on? If you do, then you need to understand how that platform works, what features you should be using, find a consistent content schedule so that you can get on there and give that ideal target market the content that speaks directly to them and helps promote your business and your brand as well.
Go ALL in on this one platform. Stop trying to show up in all the places. That’s not going to do anything for you except cause burnout. Focus on your niche, your message and the platform where your audience is located!
#1: You have to make a decision & choose your niche
#2: Know who you’re speaking to & then speak directly to them!
#3: Where are these people hanging out? Go there & go all in there!
