Learn How To Grow Your Photography Business to Full Time Income This Year!
Are you struggling with ways to get more photography bookings? Running a business can be a rollercoaster. Some months are fantastic and you hit your sales goals. And then the next month is the worst you’ve ever seen which causes you to doubt yourself and your business. Today I’m going to share with you 4 ways to get more photography bookings right now if your photography business is slow.
A mistake I see many photographers make when things get slow is to immediately slash their prices and give discounts. Sometimes giving discounts is ok but if you do it all the time then you’re training people to wait for discounts instead of paying you in full. If bookings are slow for you right now, one idea is to offer a bite sized version of something you already offer. Instead of a full size session offer something shorter with fewer images.
Let me give you an example. If you are a newborn photographer, you can add a petite size offer. Create a smaller version of your full size packages. Instead of doing a 2-3 hour newborn session with 30 images, consider offering a 1 hour newborn session with 10 images.
This is something you should be doing all the time anyway. When you create content, pretend that the person you are speaking to is going to book at some point. What do they need to know? How can you prepare them for their session? What makes booking with you right now different than any other time of the year?
Drive urgency by explaining that they’re not just getting pretty pictures, but map out the experience too. Is there a cut off date they need to consider? A field in your area that only blooms at a certain time so you need to get out there right now? Will they miss the opportunity if they choose not to book now? These are questions to help you create offers that will drive photography bookings.
If you’ve been doing the same thing when it comes to marketing and you’re not loving the results, then it’s time to do something different. Nothing changes if nothing changes. Read that again.
If you’re only posting on Instagram and occasionally sharing on Facebook then try something new! Some ideas to think about are:
Choose one new way to market and commit to that way for at least 6 months.
This tip is something that everyone can do right now. If you’re thinking to yourself ‘I’m marketing and it’s not working’, then take a look at your audience. Are your followers mostly other photographers and industry peers? You may not have enough followers who are your ideal clients. Ask yourself this – when is the last time you grew your audience? Are you adding new followers every day? By adding new people to your following you get more eyes on your business; just make sure they are ideal clients!
If you’re finding that your photography business is slow right now take at least one of these tips and give it a try:
We dive a lot deeper into these tips in my Blueprint Program. If you’re looking for an encouraging place that is full of strategy that will give you real results, then the Blueprint is where you need to be.
This is a program that is backed by over 200 photographers who I asked the other day what their initial hesitations were before joining the Blueprint. Many of them told me that it was something that sounded too good to be true. They were worried it may be a scam or just another course or program they would invest in and not get any real return from.
I asked them how they felt about their decision now and aside from telling me that it was the best decision they ever made for their business, they also shared that they love the fact that they can ask questions within the Facebook group and I answer in real time. The coaching calls that they can go back and listen to are helpful. There is real strategy inside of the Blueprint with no fluff and when they implement something that they have learned they can immediately see how it is helping their business.
If you’re interested in my Blueprint Program but you’re on the fence, feel free to drop me a message on Instagram and I’ll honestly tell you if I feel that it’s for you.
